Dogs can’t read,

but they can be great listeners...

In this monthly program, children read aloud to trained therapy dogs.   The dogs’ handlers sit nearby to help ease the interaction.

Children are often more willing to read to dogs than in front of their classmates, because kids who stumble over new words know their furry friends won't make fun of them. By reading to a therapy dog,  children's reading skills improve and their self-esteem grows.

Open to all kids and tweens

Books may be brought from home or chosen from the library shelves.

Each child will receive a certificate and a free  book to take home.

 · Register for one 15 minute session

· Readers may remain for a longer session
if next time slot is not reserved.

 · More than one child may read at a time
depending on the availability of dogs and handlers
