The
Reading Patch Club
is “wear” it’s at!
Reading is cool and so is being a member
of this exciting library club!
Students in grades K-5,
who are reading on their own, earn colorful embroidered patches each month
during the school year and have a special party in April to celebrate their
reading success.
Children may join the club
at any time during the school year.
To earn a patch, readers must finish 5 books or 150 pages during the month.
Patches are awarded at a
special club meeting once a month.
· Readers
can earn one patch a month (seven patches total).
· Meeting
attendance is not required to earn the patches, but is encouraged and a lot of
fun!
Each month we’ll hear stories, do a craft, play a game, and more.
· If
you can’t make the meeting, your patch may be picked up anytime after the
meeting.
· Missed
patches can be made up depending on availability.
· Only
books read between August 22, 2007 and March 31, 2008 may be counted.
Club
members are encouraged to choose books at their reading level, but they may read
whatever types of books they enjoy
(such as mysteries, fantasy, sports stories
