(hold up 5
fingers) Great big cat
Teasing Mister crocodile “can’t catch
me!” Four big paws
(make a mouth with other
hand Long sharp claws
– fingers and thumb
touching) Through the jungle running
(wiggle
“monkeys”) Do you see
her coming?
Along came Mister crocodile, slowly as
can be What a sight!
(slowly move “crocodile” hand
towards monkeys) Will she bite?
SNAP!
(“bite” off one
finger)
I’m a Giraffe
Four little
monkeys…..
I’m a big tall giraffe stretching way up high
No little monkeys swinging from a
tree (reach arms
up over head)
(shake head no- hold hands
out to sides)
A big tall giraffe, I amost reach the sky
Away went the crocodile, happy as can
be (reaching on
tiptoes)
(rub tummy and
smile)
I eat the leaves from the tallest trees
(pretend to eat)
Three monkeys
And when I run, I move with ease
Three little monkeys sitting in a tree
(hold up 3 fingers) (pretend to run)
Eating bananas, just like me
(pretend to peel banana)
I’m a big tall giraffe stretching way up high
One had a frown
(frown)
(reach arms up over head)
One had a grin (smile)
Way …Up…High! (reaching on tiptoes)
And one had banana all over his chin!
(point to chin)
I Went to the Jungle One Day
The animals in
the jungle
(sung to the tune: "London Bridge)
(sung to The
wheels on the bus)
I went to the jungle one
day, The monkeys in the
jungle say ooh, ooh, ooh,
jungle one day, jungle one
day. ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
ooh,
I saw a lion on the way
The monkeys in the
jungle say ooh, ooh, ooh,
and this is what he
said, all day long.
"ROAR"!
-continue with parrots, tigers,…..
- repeat with other jungle animals (snake, monkey, frog…)
Down In The Jungle
(chant)
Monkey See Monkey Do
(clap hands on knees and clap them
together Monkey
see monkey do
to set the rhythm of the
chant.)
Little monkey at the zoo
Monkey, monkey in the tree
Down in the jungle with the beat in your
feet, Can you __________ like me?
Think of an animal that you'd like to meet.
-jump around, swing
your tail,
That you'd like to meet ________!
scratch
an itch, eat a banana….
(Call out child's name and have
them name a jungle animal)
A _____ A ______ She / He wants to see a
________!
Then have all of the children imitate that
animal
Swinging Monkeys
(hold hands and swing arms up and down)
Keep repeating and naming different animals
for the children Little monkeys swinging in the tree
to imitate and don't forget the growls,
screeches, and roars! All hold hands and swing with me
This is great for indoors on rainy days.
Swing up high and swing down
low
Swing in the tree, now let go! (let go of hands)
