Songs and rhymes to share:
Popcorn (bounce
child on lap) This
is Me
(touch parts named)
Popcorn, popcorn
Two little eyes
to look around
Sitting in the
pot Two
little ears to hear each sound
Shake it, shake it (wiggle
body)
One little nose to
smell what's sweet
Pop! Pop! Pop! (jump up or clap hands
loudly)
One little mouth that likes to eat
Dump Truck
(bounce child on lap)
Dump truck dump truck
Bumpin’ down the road
Spillin’ gravel as you travel
With your heavy load
Bumpety bumpety bump
Dump truck dump truck
Dump!
(tip child off of lap)
Where are your toes?
I Like My Nose
by Bruce Lansky
What a surprise, here are your eyes
From ” If Pigs Could Fly…and Other Deep Thoughts”
(point to eyes)
I’m glad
that my nose
And this I suppose is a nose
points down to my toes,
(point to nose)
and doesn’t
point up to the sky.
And right under here, I've discovered an ear
For now I can sneeze
(tickle ear)
just as much as I please,
But where oh where are your toes?
without getting goo in my eye
(tickle toes)
The
Five Senses Song
Tune: This Old Man
With my eyes, I can see robins nesting in a tree.
Chorus: I see and hear, smell, taste, and touch.
My five senses know so much!
With my ears, I can hear different noises sound quite clear.
Chorus
With my nose, I can smell lovely flowers in the dell.
Chorus
With my mouth, I can taste The minty flavored new toothpaste
Chorus
With my hands, I can feel bananas with a slippery
peel.
Chorus

Say it in Sign!
Use your hand to waft the smell of fresh baked bread to
your nose –do twice
Color the things that are good to smell

Springtime Song Tune: Did you ever see a Lassie?
My eyes can see it springtime, it's springtime, its springtime.
My eyes can see it springtime, the grass is so green!
The green grass, the
flowers,
the sunshine and showers.
My eyes can see it's springtime, and I am so glad.
My ears can hear its springtime, its spring time, its springtime.
My ears can hears its springtime, the birds sweetly sing.
The birds sing, the lambs bleat the frogs croak, the bees buzz.
My ears can hear it's springtime, and I am so glad!
My body can feel its springtime, it's springtime, it's springtime.
My body can feel it's springtime, the air is so warm.
The warm air, the breezes, no frost and no freezes.
My body can feel it's springtime, and I am so glad!
The Five Senses Song Sung to: "Old Mac Donald Had a Farm"
On my face I have two eyes;
Use them every day.
They are used to help me see
When I work and play.
With a look, look here,
And a look, look there,
Here a look, there a look,
Everywhere a look, look.
On my face I have two eyes;
Use them every day!
On my face I have a nose;
Use it all the time.
When I sniff it I can tell
Vinegar from lime.
With a sniff, sniff here,
And a sniff, sniff there,
Here a sniff, there a sniff,
Everywhere a sniff, sniff.
On my face I have a nose;
Use it all the time!
In my mouth I have a tongue;
Use it when I eat.
Tasting with it I can tell
Sour from the sweet.
With a lick, lick here,
And a lick, lick there,
Everywhere a lick, lick.
In my mouth I have a tongue;
Use it when I eat!
On my head I have two ears;
Listening all day long.
And if I didn't have them there,
I couldn't hear this song!
With a listen here,
And a listen there,
Everywhere a listen, listen.
On my head I have two ears;
Listening all day long!
On my body I have skin;
Feeling cold and heat.
It stretches from atop my head
Way down to my feet.
With a touch, touch here,
And a touch, touch there,
Here a touch, there a touch,
Everywhere a touch, touch.
On my body I have skin;
Feeling cold and heat!
Runaway
I have two eyes to see with,
I have two feet to run,
I have two hands to wave with,
And nose I have but one.
I have two ears to hear with,
And a tongue to say 'good day!'
And two red cheeks for you to kiss,
And now I'll run away.
