Songs and rhymes to share:
If I Were A Leaf
If I were a leaf
I'd jump down from my tree (jump)
I'd dance in the wind (dance around)
I'd fly in the breeze (pretend to fly)
I'd change bright colors
I'd spin in the air (spin around)
Then I'd land on the ground (fall down)
I just don't know where! (shrug shoulders)
Falling Leaves
Little leaves falling down
(flutter fingers like falling leaves)
Red and yellow, orange and brown
Whirling, twirling, round and round
(Twirl hands in circles)
Falling softly to the ground
(flutter fingers to floor)
Maple Tree
Maple tree, maple tree
You grow so tall
(stretch arms up and out)
Your leaves turn gorgeous
Colors in the fall
(flutter fingers down)
Autumn Leaves
Leaves are falling from the trees
(flutter fingers down)
Yellow, brown and red
Falling, falling from above
One landed on my head!
(hand on head)
Leaves on the Ground
When the leaves are on the ground (point to floor)
Instead of on the trees (hands up high)
I'd like to make a pile of them (make pretend pile)
Way up to my knees (point to knees)
I'd like to run and jump in them (run in place and jump)
And kick them all around (kick)
I like the prickly feel of them (rub hands together)
And the crinkly, crackly sound
Fall
Autumn winds begin to blow (blow)
Colored leaves fall fast and slow (wave hands fast and slow)
Twirling, whirling, all around (turn body around)
Until at last they touch the ground (touch the ground)
Hush…The Leaves are Falling
The leaves are falling down (flutter fingers down)
Hush (softly place hands flat on the floor)
The leaves are falling down (flutter fingers down)
Hush (softly place hands flat on the floor)
Whisper, whisper, whisper ,whisper (sway hands back and forth)
The leaves are falling down (flutter fingers down)
Hush (softly place hands flat on the floor)
