One Potato  (clap and count)                                                     I Dig, Dig, Dig                                                 

One potato, two potatoes                                                            I dig, dig, dig                  (pretend to dig)

Three potatoes, four                                                                   And I plant some seeds    (stoop down to plant)

Five potatoes, six potatoes                                                         I rake, rake, rake            (pretend to rake)

Seven potatoes, more!                                                                And I pull some weeds     (pull up weeds)

Eight potatoes, nine potatoes                                                      I wait and watch (hands on hips looking down)

Ten potatoes, and then…                                                            My garden sprouts         (hands low)

We dig them up,   (pretend to dig)                                               And starts to grow!         (raise hands)

and start again!                         

                                                                                                Five Green Peas         

Pease Porrigde Hot                                                                 Five green peas in a peapod, pressed      (make fist)

Pease porridge hot  (clap hands twice)                                         One grew, two grew and so did all the rest

Pease porridge cold  (tap knees twice)                                                     (raise fingers one at a time)

Pease porridge in the pot   (clap hands twice)                               They grew and grew and did not stop

Nine days old  (tap knees twice)                                                              (stretch fingers wide)    

Some like ‘em hot  (clap hands twice)                                          ‘Till one day that peapod just had to go……

Some like ‘em cold  (tap knees twice)                                          POP!    (clap hands)

Some like ‘em in the pot   (clap hands twice)                               

Nine days old  (tap knees twice)                                                  Planting Time  (to the tune of “Row Row Your Boat”)

                                                                                                Dig, dig, dig the earth                 (pretend to dig)

Jumping Beans  (bounce or jump)                                             Then you plant your seeds          (pretend to plant)

One, two, three four                                                                    A gentle rain                  (fingers flutter down)

Beans came jumping through the door                                         The bright sunshine        (arms circle overhead)

Five, six, seven, eight                                                                 And veggies you will see (open arms wide)

Jumping right on to my plate!

 

Dig a Little Hole                                                                       Round the Garden

Dig a little hole               (pretend to dig)                                      Round and round the garden (draw circle on tummy)

Plant a little seed           (pretend to plant)                                    Goes the teddy bear

Pour a little water           (pretend to water)                                   One step, two steps       (walk fingers up chest)

Pull a little weed            (pretend to weed)                                   Tickle under there!          (tickle neck)

Chase a little bug           (shoo with hands)                                   Round and round the garden (draw circle on tummy)

There he goes!               (wiggle fingers away)                              Goes the little mouse

Give a little sunshine      (arms circle overhead)                            One step, two steps       (walk fingers up chest)

Grow a little rose            (pretend to hold flower to smell)               Into his little house         (tickle under arm)
