2008 Children's Summer Reading Program

The Children's Department would like to thank the following groups for donations that make our  summer reading program successful.

 All readers who complete 25 hours of reading will be
        invited to a special party on July 26th.

 Come for weekly storytimes and activity clubs
         (for babies, toddlers, young families, preschoolers
        and school age kids entering grades K-5)

Weekly Programs

for Kids and Tweens

Programs begin June 16, and end July 25

  • registration is not necessary but is appreciated

    •  - drop-ins are very welcome

    * Make sure you register for both the Reading Program
    and the activities and events separately

     

    Inch Worms / Babytime - Fridays 10:00 - 10:30 am 
               - birth to 23 months and their caregivers

    Wiggle Worms / Young Family Storytime
           - Tuesdays 6:30 -7:00  pm &  Fridays 11:00 - 11:30 am
                  - birth to age 5 and their caregivers

    Grasshoppers / Preschool Storytime
    - Tuesdays 10:00 - 10:30 am
            - ages 3 -  5 - attend on their own

                   * no preschool storytime July 1

    Bookworms / Grades K-5 Club
    - Wednesdays 10:00 - 11:00 am          
            - entering grades K-5 in the fall
                   - no younger siblings please

    You & Me Crafters Club  (ages 6 and up)
        - Mondays 12:00-1:00  pm    

    Bring whatever craft project you are working on and spend an hour crafting, chatting, and having fun! 
    We’ll supply scissors and glue,you bring the rest. 
    Parents encouraged to attend.

                 - for Tweens only (entering grades 4-6) at 12:00 

     

     

    Special Events

    "Bugs and Butterflies"

     with the Lake Metroparks

    - for children entering grades K-5

    author of  “The Dragonfly Keeper”

    Books for purchase and signing will be available before and after the program

    Learn Camping Safety and First Aid

    with Perry Boy Scouts
