For Parents of Tweens
Please take a moment to browse our new Tweens area...
v
Children of this age often
have a difficult time finding books they want to read that are also at an
appropriate reading
level.
They have the advanced vocabulary to tackle longer books, and want to read
about subjects that are more mature.
However, the material in
Teen novels is not appropriate for children of this age. This is the
main reason we have created
our tween section.
To give the older children a bit of a buffer zone between the “kiddy” books and
the teen novels.
v
The library expansion project is finished, and all tween materials
are now housed in an area of the children’s
library just for them — with
comfortable chairs for lounging, visiting, and reading. The books in the
tween area are mostly
fiction, but we have two small sections of non-fiction and graphic novels & comic books.
