Dogs can’t read, but they can be great
listeners…
Children are invited to read aloud to a
friendly, gentle dog who is licensed and trained to be a good
listener. The dogs’ handlers sit nearby to help ease the
interaction. Reading to one of our furry friends helps to
improve children's reading skills and their self-esteem.
Open to any
child in grades K-8
Each child will
receive a souvenir photo and a free book to take home.
Drop-ins are welcome
if time slots are available
Participants may register for one 15
minute time slot each session. Additional sessions will be held
in the spring. The program is free and open to anyone.
