Perry Public Library has been an
association library since 1953. Seventeen of the 257 libraries
in Ohio are association libraries. As an association library
differs from the four other types of libraries in the state
which include: school district, county, county district and
municipality libraries.
In a majority of the public libraries in Ohio, trustees are
appointed by the officials of a taxing authority.
Perry Public Library is organized and
governed as an Association Library.
It is administered by a Board of Trustees, elected by members of
the Association. The purpose of the Association is to
maintain and conduct a public library for the benefits of
residents of Lake County, Ohio.
Membership in the Perry Library Association means you choose Trustees who
have the desire and ability to keep improving your library
service.
The Association elects the Library Board
annually.
The Association meets annually on the fourth
Tuesday of October.
At the annual meeting,
members elect three (3) Trustees to a 3-year term on the
9-member Board and receive an update from library
staff.
Any adult resident of Perry Township, Perry Village and North
Perry Village may be a voting member of the Association after
paying a lifetime membership fee of $1.
To become a member of the Association,
inquire at the Circulation Desk,
print this page, or use
this .pdf form
and return it to the Library with the $1.00 membership fee.
Please join
