The
Library offers two meeting rooms for use by the public. We have a
small conference room that seats 24 people and a larger general meeting
room with a capacity for up to 40 people. (The children's department
story time room is available for library programs only.)
The
Library meeting rooms are available during normal Library operating days
and hours. Meetings must end 15 minutes prior to the library's
closing time for the day. Rooms may be reserved no more than 6
months in advance. Library programming will have first priority in
determining room use. Hours of scheduling shall include the total
time involved in the meeting (including setup and clean up) to the time
the room is vacated.

Responsibility and Liability:
Prior to requesting a meeting room please read the
following rules and policies. The group or individual requesting
the room and their members attending the event shall be personally
responsible for complying with these rules and policies. Please
make sure all individuals are aware of these policies before your event.
Any equipment, other than what is provided by the library, must be
supplied and set up by the group using the room.
Both rooms have coffee pots and small refrigerators. All food,
tableware, and other materials must be provided by the group using the
room. Refreshments may be served in connection with a meeting, but
in no event shall alcoholic beverages of any nature be served or
permitted in the room.
The area or room must be left in a clean and orderly condition.
The room user is responsible for returning all chair and table
arrangements as found. Any damage to the facilities will be billed to
the group, accordingly.
Smoking is prohibited under any circumstances.
The library is not responsible for any equipment, supplies, materials,
clothing, or other items brought to the library or transported to
library property by any group or individual attending the meeting.
All groups shall hold the library harmless from any loss, damage,
liability, costs and/or expense that may arise during or caused in any
way by such use of library facilities.
Availability
and Exceptions:
The use of the Library for meetings is granted to community groups and
organizations whose aims are cultural, educational, and/or for the civic
betterment. The use of the Library for meetings will not be
granted for private events (birthday parties, etc.) or for meetings that
are commercial in nature or intended to further an individual’s
goal. Commercial or profit-making organizations sponsoring educational
programs will be permitted to use the meeting rooms provided the events
are open and free to the general public and when no selling,
solicitation, or order taking occurs.
The Library Board shall
reserve the right to refuse requested meetings at their option.
Religious and partisan
political promotions are prohibited on the premises. Political
groups my use the meeting rooms for non-partisan or bi-partisan programs
of an educational nature. Religious groups may use the meeting
rooms for non-sectarian or interdenominational meetings or programs.
The fact that a
group is permitted to meet at the library does not in any way constitute
an endorsement of the group's policies or beliefs by the library staff
or Board.
