Thank you for your support regarding library funding. The Legislators have listened, and the cuts to the Public Library Fund were not as deep as Governor Strickland proposed. The proposed cuts will be approximately 11%, a reduction of $84.3 million, over the next two years of the State of Ohio Biennium Budget. This is on top of the 22% reduction which has already occurred due to the poor economy.
How will this affect the Perry Public Library?
There are no firm figures yet to put a dollar amount on the decrease to the revenue of the Perry Public Library. Once firm figures have been issued, the Library Administrative Staff and the Board of Trustees will evaluate the budget and make any decisions regarding services, programs, materials and staff. No decisions will be made until that point.
Thank you again for your continued support of the Library. We will keep you informed as changes are made.
