Special loan privileges are available to any teacher in a public school, private school
preschool, licensed childcare center, educational organization, or to any registered home schooling parent.
Teachers must obtain a separate library card (which will be kept on file at the library) to check out materials intended for classroom use.
The following special conditions apply only to materials checked out on this card.
- The loan period on a teacher card is 6 weeks with no renewal.
- A loan can be made for 9 weeks if specified when the loan is first requested. No extensions will be made after the items have been checked out.
- Teachers may select their own books or, with several days notice, a librarian will assemble a collection which will be automatically checked out and ready for pick up. There may be limits on materials which cover topics in high demand ( i.e. holiday books) or for which our collection is limited.
- For your convenience, the library will provide you with a printout of all materials checked out on your teacher card.
- Only items regularly checked out for 3 weeks (books, audiobooks, music CDs, and book kits) may be borrowed on you teacher loan card. Videos, magazines, and software must be checked out on your personal card and will be subject to regular circulation guidelines.
- Items from other CLEVNET libraries must be requested on your personal card and will only circulate for 3 weeks.
- Regardless of reminders, you are responsible for the condition and return of all materials borrowed on your teacher card. CLEVNET’s policy allows up to $1000 worth of materials (approximately 50 books) to be checked out at a time. Please report any lost or damaged items. Any fines and fees from other CLEVNET libraries need to be handled with the lending library.
Classroom collections will be distributed in canvas bags. Please return the same books and bags to the front circulation desk. Please do not use the book drop. If you find yourself having difficulty returning a loan on time, please call and inform the library.
